Dr. Meiser received his dental degree from the Ruprecht-Karls University in Heidelberg/Germany in 2002. He first came to Minnesota as an exchange student for one semester in 2001 on a full scholarship to study Dentistry at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. It was then when he met his wife Michelle who is a pediatric dentist.

Besides his work at Smiles by Design, Dr. Meiser works as a part-time faculty member at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry teaching dental students. He is also a mentor in the Postgraduate Program for Esthetic Dentistry at the University of Minnesota. He recently was involved in teaching a Mini-Residency in Advanced Restorative Dentistry Techniques which was attended by group of Dentists from all around the world.

Education

Dr. Meiser continues to pursue advanced training in the dental profession and is passionate about mastering the most progressive and effective techniques currently available. After graduation Dr. Meiser worked as a full-time faculty member at the University in Heidelberg before he moved to Minnesota in 2003. During his first year in Minnesota he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program.

In 2004/2005, Dr. Meiser completed a Fellowship in Contemporary Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry at the Center for Contemporary Dentistry at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He enjoys applying contemporary techniques that require minimal or no removal of tooth structure to create beautiful smiles.

In addition Dr. Meiser completed almost 500 hours of Continuing Education since 2003 including Level I and Level II of the Postgraduate Program in Esthetic Dentistry at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Meiser is currently working on completing the 3-year long curriculum to receive a Certificate in Contemporary Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.

Dr. Meiser strongly believes in “Evidenced-based” Dentistry and thus has been and stays involved in research in the field of dentistry which is reflected in a number of publications in scientific journals and conferences. He also completed his Doctoral Thesis with “magna cum laude” at the Ruprecht-Karls University of Heidelberg/Germany.

Family

Dr. Meiser and his wife Michelle got married in 2003 after traveling back and forth between Germany and the USA. They live together with their Golden Retriever Scooby and their cat Madison on the east side of Saint Paul. In Summer Dr. Meiser enjoys mountain biking and running - he finished the Twin Cities Marathon 2005 and 2006. During the winter months Dr. Meiser and his wife try to spend as much time as possible on their snowboards.
